Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Par
Your safari adventure begins with a morning departure from Arusha, heading to Tarangire National Park—a scenic 2-hour drive. Known for its giant baobab trees, rolling savannah, and large elephant herds, Tarangire offers excellent game viewing. Enjoy a full-day game drive, spotting lions, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and many bird species. After your safari, transfer to your lodge or camp near the park or in Karatu for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, depart for the world-famous Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you can opt to visit a Maasai village or the Olduvai Gorge, an important archaeological site. Arrive in the Serengeti in the afternoon and enjoy your first game drive in the vast plains. Look out for predators like lions and cheetahs, and herds of wildebeest and zebras. Dinner and overnight in a tented camp or lodge in Central Serengeti.
Day 3: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
Spend the entire day exploring the Serengeti, home to the Big Five and the Great Migration (seasonal). Morning and afternoon game drives (or a full-day game drive with packed lunch) will take you through different ecosystems, from open grasslands to riverine areas. Watch for elephants, leopards, hippos, and endless plains filled with wildlife. Return to your accommodation in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Rim
After a morning game drive and breakfast, depart from the Serengeti and journey toward Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Wildlife sightings continue along the way as you climb into the highlands. In the late afternoon, arrive at your lodge perched on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views. Dinner and overnight at the crater rim.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Tour – Return to Arusha
Start early for a descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best places in Africa to see the Big Five, including the endangered black rhino. Enjoy a 5–6 hour game drive on the crater floor with a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, ascend the crater and begin your drive back to Arusha for dinner or an overnight stay, depending on your departure plans.
Day 6: Departure from Arusha
Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy a relaxing morning or optional local activities such as a cultural tour or coffee plantation visit. Later, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport for your departure, marking the end of your incredible 6-day Tanzania safari.
