Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Take this day to relax, recover from your journey, and prepare for the exciting safari ahead. If time allows, enjoy a stroll through the peaceful gardens or take in views of Mount Meru.
Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, a scenic drive of about two hours. Once inside the park, enjoy a game drive through landscapes dotted with giant baobab trees and home to large elephant herds, lions, giraffes, and many bird species. In the afternoon, settle into your lodge or tented camp for a restful evening.
Day 3: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park
Today you travel to the legendary Serengeti. The drive takes you through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with game viewing en route. Along the way, you may stop at Olduvai Gorge or a Maasai village for a cultural experience. Arrive in the Central Serengeti in the afternoon for your first game drive in the endless plains.
Day 4: Full Day in Serengeti
Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti’s diverse habitats in search of the Big Five and the Great Migration, depending on the time of year. Morning and afternoon game drives will maximize your wildlife viewing opportunities, with a picnic lunch or midday break at camp before heading out again.
Day 5: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater Rim
After a morning game drive, depart the Serengeti and begin your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy the scenic drive and look out for wildlife along the way. You’ll arrive at your lodge on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater in time to relax and enjoy panoramic views of the caldera below.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Safari – Return to Arusha
Descend early into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day safari in one of the world’s most wildlife-rich areas. Keep an eye out for black rhinos, lions, buffalo, elephants, and flocks of flamingos. After lunch, begin the drive back to Arusha, where you’ll spend the night before heading to Zanzibar.
Day 7: Arusha – Fly to Zanzibar (Stone Town)
Transfer to the airport for your flight to the exotic island of Zanzibar. Upon arrival, you’ll be met and taken to your hotel in Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spend the afternoon at leisure, soaking up the history and culture of this ancient Swahili port town.
Day 8: Stone Town Tour & Spice Plantation Visit
This morning, enjoy a guided walking tour of Stone Town, where you’ll visit bustling markets, historical sites, and winding alleyways filled with character. In the afternoon, visit a spice plantation to discover the island’s famous cloves, vanilla, and other aromatic crops. Return to your hotel for dinner and relaxation.
Day 9: Transfer to Beach Resort – North or East Coast
After breakfast, transfer to your beach resort on the north or east coast of Zanzibar. Settle into your beachfront accommodation and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure—relax on the white-sand beaches or swim in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.
Day 10 & 11: Beach Relaxation & Optional Activities
Spend two full days enjoying Zanzibar’s coastal paradise. You can simply relax at the beach or take part in optional activities such as snorkeling, diving, a sunset dhow cruise, visiting Jozani Forest to see red colobus monkeys, or indulging in a Swahili cooking class or spa treatment. These days are perfect for unwinding after your safari.
Day 12: Departure from Zanzibar
Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy a leisurely breakfast and some final moments by the sea. You will then be transferred to Zanzibar International Airport for your departure flight, concluding your unforgettable Tanzania safari and beach holiday.
